Michael Sagnella was a student-athlete who graduated from John F. Kennedy High School in 1978. He played nose guard, offensive tackle and fullback, and went on to play for Milford Academy before attaining a Baking and Pastry Arts degree. He was a lifelong athlete, a lover of all sports, and an avid football fan.
Michael passed away suddenly in 2020. The Sagnella Family has set up an annual scholarship fund in his honor for a college-bound player from the Kennedy football program. The Michael Sagnella Memorial Scholarship will be bestowed upon an outstanding Kennedy athlete who exhibits determination, self-discipline, leadership, integrity and humility. This year through their kindness and generosity, the Sagnella family recognized two student-athletes, Dereck Ledee and Josh Bayarinas, Each received a $1,000 scholarship to help support their higher education and future goals. Congratulations to Dereck and Josh!
